In this piece, Michael Reagan names the problem and asks the right question. But as with everyone else, with the exception of VFR, VDare, American Renaissance, and maybe a few others, not a word about the obvious solution for the West.

One specific bit of reportage from Reagan (if I understand him correctly) that I have not seen elsewhere: the cop who stopped these Christian evangelists in England is a Moslem. I assume that is what Reagan means when he calls him a "Muslim community support police officer." So, in England, that once-sceptered and once-Christian isle, not only are the natives compelled to truckle to invading aliens, the traitorous British establishment has deputized invading aliens to make them truckle! (I know the evangelists in question are Americans long resident in England while the "MCSPO" in question may have been born there, but that hardly changes the point.)

The first, taken from website Islam-qa.com relates to a response to a question - “Question #21961: The wisdom behind Jihad”
Which says the following:

Why does it take someone from Czechoslovakia to express the obvious; are there no sensible people left in congress? Rush Limbaugh calls them "environmental communists"; no wonder Vaclav Klaus recognizes these people for what they are after having lived under the yoke of communism for so long. Do Americans have to live under the American version of communism such as pronounced by Barack Obama and John McCain (insofar as his acceptance of the global warming premise is concerned) before they wake up to what is at stake here? If so, heaven help us.

Public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area have been roped into Islamic training by representatives from the Council on American-Islamic Relations during class time, prompting religious leaders to protest over Principal Robin Lowe's actions.

Pastor Dave Welch, spokesman for the Houston Area Pastor Council, confirmed the indoctrination had taken place and called it "unacceptable."

There’s an anniversary this week we might do well to recall. On May 29, 1453 – just 555 short years ago -- troops led by Mehmed II broke through the walls of the ancient Christian capital of Constantinople.

Mehmed the Conqueror – as he would be known from that day forward -- rode triumphantly into the city on a white horse. Soon, churches would be converted into mosques. Constantinople would become Istanbul.

“For the West this was a dark moment,” writes historian Efraim Karsh in his masterful book, Islamic Imperialism. “For Islam it was a cause for celebration. For nearly a millennium Constantinople had been the foremost barrier – physically and ideologically – to Islam’s sustained drive for world conquest and the object of desire of numerous Muslim rulers.”

The Iranians have arrested dozens of Christians this year, ten in one city in the past several months. Their crime? Leaving Islam. No, I'm not kidding.

As if putting people in jail for this "crime" wasn't enough, the regime has recently decided that the hadith attributed to Muhammed on "changing one's deen" is authentic. Which means apostates now face the death penalty in the Islamic Republic. Really.

Which is why political Islam, even when it rejects terrorism, is still dangerous. Dangerous to freedom, liberty, and all those values cherished by the Western world since the Enlightenment.

Memorial Day was originally called Decoration Day. Three years after the Civil War ended the Grand Army of the Republic, an organization of Union veterans led by Major General John A. Logan, established it as a day for decorating the graves of the war dead. In May 1868 the first major observance was held at Arlington National Cemetery. However, towns in both the North and the South such as Waterloo, NY and Columbus, GA claimed to have been first to commemorate their fallen soldiers. Who was first is of no consequence, only that they were united in their desire to honor them. On May 30, 1870 Maj. Gen. Logan gave an oration towards the end of which he said: "Let us then all unite in the solemn feelings of the hour, and tender with our flowers the warmest sympathies of our souls! Let us revive our patriotism and strengthen our loyalty by the example of the noble dead around us."
